family matters About Blindness For Youth Ages 5 9

Teaching youth about Blindness is very important. It's important for them to know that Blind and visually impaired people are just like you and me. We can do most of the same things you can but may need some adaptations. My name is Odie Lofton. I'm affiliated with the Iowa Department For The Blind and am on the Speaker's Bureau with Guide Dogs For The Blind. This video is meant to be educational for children ages 5-9. However, it also has some key points that adults will find informative as well. I am not an expert but I am legally blind. Everything I know about mobility and adaptive technology has either come from my experience as a legally blind person or has been taught to me by the two organizations that I'm affiliated with.
